TIME SLIME

DESCRIPTION:

The summer day was warm. School was out. They were bored, And Mrs. Armbrose had gone shopping. That left time for Sammy, Ollie, and Burgy to sneak down the rickety, wooden stairs and into the cellar where they could explore its contents. But things changed when Sammy spotted a canning jar containing a green slime. One taste and he disappeared to his yesterday. But he wasn't finished risking his life. Using the time slime had upset the balance of time and space. Now, he again time traveled to the past to stop the man from ever distilling energy from the universe which could likely end the existence of Earth and everyone and everything else.

EXCERPT:

“So now you gonna taste it?” Ollie asked.

Sammy grinned at her and raised his eyebrows a few times like he had seen Groucho Marx do in an old movie. He kind of liked this newly-discovered weakness in Ollie.

He stuck out his tongue and touched his finger to it. No taste. The slime had molded to his finger with a hard surface as smoothly as candle wax.

Then, like little Jack Horner, he plunged his finger into its contents and brought it to his tongue again, the slime still shiny with moistness. He hardly noticed the hail ricocheting off the barn roof.

In the next second, two things happened so quickly they seemed like one. First, his tongue sensed an extremely bitter taste causing him to gag. Second, he disappeared.
