DESCRIPTION:

Angus flies to Cape Cod to spend the summer with his twin cousins, Hallie and Bell, and their mother. What initially looks like a boring summer quickly turns into a mystery when Bell and Hallie share the leather bag of gold coins their deceased father, a treasure hunter, had hidden in his filing cabinet.  If they correctly follow the clue inscribed on one side of each coin, they will find Black Sam's treasure. But time is running out, and an old sailor who lives on the beach is waiting to take any means to snatch it from them when they find it.

EXCERPT:

“Look. Dad always said he had clues about where Black Sam hid his treasure. Maybe while Angus is here, we should start looking. There is the bag.”

Before Bell could respond, Angus jumped in. “Your dad left actual clues?”

Hallie continued to argue her point. “Dad would have wanted us to carry on with his last search, for the treasure he claimed he wouldn’t spend when he found it. The one he’d retire on so we could live like royalty.”

“We were going to find it ourselves, remember? Just us. Family.”

“Angus is family. Besides, we’ve got to do something all summer besides walk Marconi.”

For the rest of the afternoon, Angus pestered Bell about searching for real pirate treasure. Finding it would be a dream come true.
