Jus' Drivin'

Above: If I use my golfcart, I am not driving a golf ball. I jus' drivin'  around town. Less frustrating.

It may be hard to imagine teachers with a whole different life when they're not teaching. When they're teaching, they're pretty much putting in 100% effort. But in the evenings, on weekends, and in the summer, you might be surprised by their interests. I knew a teacher in Clay Center several years ago who enjoyed spray painting plastic models. Other teachers (me included) have acted and sung in local musicals. As you know by now, I am a writer who has been published in local newspapers and regional and national magazines. But my focus has always been on writing books for middle-grade students who I have enjoyed teaching for most of my career.
